Speaker Tips

Please note that the CDMC Events will assume copyright to all presentations. Presentations will be made available to delegates online and speakers will be asked to consent to the distribution of video or audio recordings of their presentation.

Here are a few tips for your presentation:
On-Screen Computer Presentations

Presenters should prepare a computer presentation for on-screen display. This should preferably be submitted via email in Microsoft PowerPoint format or Adobe PDF format. You will be able to receive instruction on the use of AV equipment to give your presentation in the conference hall before your session begins.
If you wish to include media other than PowerPoint presentations slides, for example video, this will need to be agreed with organizing committee.

Preparing Computer Presentations
Speakers should ensure that presentation slides do not contain too much detail, use text that is too small or colors that make them difficult to read. Please bear in mind the importance of keeping slides as simple and as straightforward as possible. If the presentations submitted by selected speakers are not suitable they will be asked to revise them.
Graphics or photos should be correctly sized for the presentation slide. Using excessively high-resolution images does not improve on-screen appearance, but dramatically increases the file size. This causes a delay of several seconds before the figure appears on the screen. Please use graphics software to reduce the resolution (and the file size) before loading into PowerPoint.

Oral Presentation
To ensure the smooth running of the conference, the time allocated for your presentation must not be exceeded, and Chairmen will be asked to be strict in ensuring that speakers keep to their allotted time (typically 20-30 minutes). Adherence to the timetable is also important to allow adequate time for questions and discussion.
