Press Release

China Industrial Real Estate Summit 2008 – Building Better Value

The second annual China Industrial Real Estate Summit 2008 kicked off on March 5th, 2008 in Tianjin China. This two-day conference is the most influential and international real estate conference with industrial market focus in China.

The organizers, China Decision Makers Consultancy and the China Industrial Real Estate Club hope the summit, as the largest annual gathering, would be a best occasion for its members who are developing business in China’s IRE market to deliver valuable information, to study on regulation changes, to meet old friends and to search for new partners.

This distinguished conference was sponsored by China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce, ProLogis, AMB, Gazeley, Plainvim, Tianjin Jinbin Development Co., LTD, Dalian Software Park Co., LTD, Sino-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Design & Research Institute Co., LTD, Beijing Liando Investment (Group) Co., LTD, CB Richard Ellis, Scott Wilson, SIP Project Management and Yardi. And Mr. Stuart Ross, head of China industrial team from Jones Lang LaSalle was announced the new Chairman of CIRE Club.

China's industrial real estate market is booming in the coming years, driven by strong manufacturing, retail, and other export-oriented activities. China has one of the fastest growth rates of rents, land and capital values in the world. This has seen a large influx of new foreign investment, particularly in the Logistics and Business Park areas.

However, with opportunities also come challenges. The old industrial buildings were far from the international standards to suit high-end market demands, while the new supply of industrial land is very limited. Even more, driven by increasing competition, we’ve seen a sharp drop in investment yields and which may not be improved for a relatively long time.

All the players in China’s industrial market are all experiencing the challenges and opportunities associated with changing Government Policy, the impacts it is having on Land values and investment in this real estate sector.

Over 25 eminent speakers and 200 guests from government regulators, property developers, international and local investors, corporate end-users, funds and REITs, investment banks, property consultants, legal and tax experts were highly engaged in networking opportunities at China Industrial Real Estate Summit 2008. The topics cover macro-economic implication to A - Z development showcase of top parks in China.

With more people, more high-quality projects, more first-hand information and more practical knowledge for success, we hope the CIRE conferences and club events can help ?build bridges between overseas players and local government entities and enterprises.

We’ll keep doing efforts to make the platform more informative to help shape decisions and give insights into this market as it evolves over the coming years. And we also look forward to see all its members and new comers helping each other and contributing to the immature market as we are all growing our business here.
