Profitable Age in China’s Water Sector with New Round Price Restructuring

The China Water Congress 2007 in April.19th & 20th was an outstanding success in terms of the number of participants, the echelon of speakers, the high quality of presentations and the enthusiasm of the networking and communication. The Congress presented the perfect opportunity for making new contacts, signing deals and prompting new partnerships. We would like to thank all the speakers, sponsors and delegates for their dynamic participation and contribution to the event.
In statistical terms, we have accommodated around 280 decision makers and industry professionals of 150 international leading companies for this timing. With internationally highest-caliber industry gathering, the Congress has been praised as the best communication platform for China's water industry.
Before the congress, the workshop on “Desalination and Water Reuse” was held on the afternoon of April 18th. It has been greatly supported by IDA, and sponsored by Tianjin Motimo Membrane Technology Co., Ltd. The president of IDA, the president of JDA, and the chief engineer of the Institute of Seawater Desalination and Multipurpose Utilization, SOA Tianjin, gave wonderful speech on the advanced technologies in desalination and water reuse, especially the development in China. About 50 experts attended the workshop. All the participants show great interest in China’s growing market and fast development in this area.
During Day One morning, special addresses have been given by heavy weight speakers from government authorities and international leading players, including Ms. Qing Hong of Ministry of Construction, Mr. Cheng Xiaobing of Ministry of Water Resources, Mr. Yu Xiaodong of CIECC (China International Engineering Consulting Corporation), Mr. Nick Apostolidis of GHD, Mr. Koh Boon Sian of Ranhill Water Technologies, Mr. To Xiaoguang of Berlinwasser International AG, Mr. Yang Xiangping of Beijing Drainage Group Ltd. The whole day explored with the audience the exciting water infrastructure construction and water treatment market in China. Day two had a special focus on private sector's participation, innovative financing tools, the PPP mode, risk management and advanced technologies issues in China's water industry. Especially, day two afternoon targeted into diversified projects briefing for water investors, operators, E&C companies, and advanced technology providers.
This year has marked an impressive milestone for China Water Congress, as more and more international water giants have delivered their acknowledgement to the event and have showed their increasing attention on China's water market, which is more open and lucrative than ever. Through the first annual event, we've already strengthened the leadership of the China Water Congress as the highest-profile water industry event for China market with the kind supports from various parties. We will keep going to make this annual convention more beneficial and targeted for the industry professionals.
